Hello Death From Above,
I would like to be a part of your nice little clan and hereby apply for the DOGE team.
My name is Reiner, my in-game nick is "Paxsilva", I am 41 years old and live in the nice city of Nürnberg in Germany. I spend my days in front of a computer writing software and my nights in front of another computer playing games.
My gaming experience started at a time when machines that were able to manage a single "beep" were a technical sensation. So, if some of the older clan members would like to chat about the "good old times" when 64KB RAM were sufficent for games that kept you awake all night, then count me in^^
Gaming always was a competitive thing for me. During the times when LAN-parties were the hype, I played a lot of first person shooters as well as strategy games. But things changed drastically when World Of Warcraft came along. Untill then I played in small teams where individual skill could decide a match. But a raid of 40 players was something totally different and I was immediatly hooked on. I played this dirty bastard of a game for more than seven years and was part of some of the very best guilds on my server. Being online for training on 4-5 evenings of a week is therefore nothing new to me. After my active WoW career, I played some other MMOs like Lotro or Aion, but the only other game that came close was SWTOR where I again played in a server-first-guild.
Since MMOs kept me busy during that time, I missed World Of Tanks completely. I therefore didn't expect that World Of Warplanes would keep my interested for more than a week or two. I actually thought that this was not my kind of game. What a fool I was^^. I now have played almost 3400 matches, 1200 of those during open beta. My former clan was "Projekt X" which is a spin-off of the Flying Ducks clan as you might know. With Projekt X, I competed in the Days of Glory II and the Take5 tournaments where we both reached 4th place. Unfortunately, I couldn't take part in the Dogefighter tournament because of a long planned skiing holiday. Today is my first day back home actually (and no, I didn't break a leg or something).
Sadly, the activity of the members of Projekt X dropped rapidly with patch 1.1. Some of the clan members even have switched to Warthunder completely. It therefore happend rather a lot that I was the only clan member online. As a result, I quess that I fought about 60-70% of my battles solo and I can tell you that I didn't like it. I am a teamplayer and therefore want to play in a team as much as possible. I still like the guys a lot but I'm afraid that Projekt X is a little to small to offer me what I am looking for.
During my "career" as solo-flying-cannon-fodder, my stats fell rapidly. Currently, I have a win rate of 65,71%, a kill/death-ratio of 4.16, a survival rate of 60% and I destroy 1.65 enemy aircraft per battle. A while ago, after several weeks hoping in vain that the situation with Projekt X would improve again, I started to look out for other players to fly with and had several matches with Spencer, gbink, Cheaterhater, Easycheater, Keyne, Scythe and some others. I hope that I could prove to those guys that my current stats are not telling the full story and that I have some potential.
Currently, I prefer the German planes, heavy and light fighters alike. I also focused on the US-fighters a lot and my highest tier planes are therefore the Me262 and the P-51H. But since I am a big fan of the new Focke-Wolf line (with a win-rate of 95% on the FW 190 D) I plan to concentrate on this branch, so my first Tier X plane will propably be the FW 252.
So, to shorten things a little after such a long speech... what can you expect from me? A player with a loooong history in multiplayer games, a longtime member in progress-orientated and competitive guilds/clans, a team player, a tactician, a pilot who is willing and eager to improve his skills, but also a guy you can have a lot of fun with in teamspeak.
So, hope to meet you soon.
Greetings,
Reiner / Paxsilva

You write a clan application as if it were a job application Reiner!
As you've seen in the application topic, a WR of 75% is required to instantly join the DOGE group within DFA. However given the context and the detailed application you wrote I'd like to accept you as a DOGE trial either way and we'll be able to see in the next weeks wether or not you'll make it in! Looking forward to speaking / flying with you Reinier =) ____________________ it is far safer to be feared than loved. - Niccolò Machiavelli He who wishes to be obeyed must know how to command. - Niccolò Machiavelli The wise man speaks because he has something to say, the fool because he has to say something - Aristotle |

But since I am a big fan of the new Focke-Wolf line (with a win-rate of 95% on the FW 190 D)... Oh no... where, tell me, where did you go wrong??? Last time we met your winrate with the 190D was at 100%. *tries to set up a stern look* Joke aside. Welcome Pax! |

Last time we met your winrate with the 190D was at 100%. *tries to set up a stern look* Yes, I feel deeply ashamed. But even so, what a nice plane. |

Oh no... where, tell me, where did you go wrong??? Last time we met your winrate with the 190D was at 100%. *tries to set up a stern look* I figure you both were in the same team and you met a bit too closely, resulting in both of you going down in flames and thus the drop from 100% to 95%? Anyway, the only one I've seen doing well in the piece of junk that is the Fw 190 D so far was the gentle one himself, so your accomplishment of only losing one out of 19 games certainly deserves appreciation. Therefore, take my humble vote. ____________________ |

Thank you, guys.
And I had very good team mates during most of the matches with the FW, hadn't I?^^ |

Hi there,
just wanted to let you know that I caught a rather severe cold and currently spend my evenings on my sofa under a lot of blankets instead of being online. I wouldn't be a great help in a flight at the moment, but I hope that I will be well enough in a day or two to be able to get on your nerves again. So, see ya... Greetings, Reiner |

Bad news seldom come alone...
I am afraid I have to withdraw my application. Last week, my boss fired a colleaque and I will have to take over a lot of his responsibilities (I worked 60 hours last week, despite still having a bad cold). My new responsibilities involve a lot of travelling and I won't have the time to play a lot for quite a while. I thank you for the opportunity you gave me and wish you all the best. Greetings, Reiner |
